What to Expect
(as a Vegan in Seattle)
Seattle, also known as the Emerald City, is a fantastic destination for plant-based foodies. From fully vegan comfort food spots to trendy cafés and more upscale dining experiences, this city truly has it all. It’s no surprise that Seattle is consistently ranked among the top 10 vegan-friendly cities in the U.S. With so many plant-based and vegan-friendly restaurants across neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Fremont, and downtown, finding something for every craving is easy. For instance, even iconic spots like Pike Place Market — better known for its seafood — have vegan options that don’t disappoint.
Good to Know:
Vegan food is popular in Seattle — hence, many non-vegan restaurants offer clearly labeled plant-based options. Also, keep an eye out for vegan bakeries, coffee shops, and local markets, as they often have tasty plant-based treats! Grocery shopping in the Pacific Northwest is part of the fun too — Whole Foods or Sprouts Farmers Market offer unique plant-based snacks & ingredients, for example.

Best Vegan Restaurants in Seattle
These are my top picks for the best vegan food in the Pacific Northwest. The following places are all-rounders with an extensive menu, great taste, and a comfortable ambiance.
Next Level Veggie Grill
Firstly, let’s start with a classic that many OG vegans will remember: Veggie Grill. This fully vegan restaurant chain is a go-to spot for plant-based comfort food in Seattle. In 2024, it was acquired by Next Level Burger, which led to its rebrand as Next Level Veggie Grill. Since then, the restaurant has been serving an all-American vegan menu at many locations across the country. It’s the perfect place when you’re craving vegan fast food or a plant-based take on an In-N-Out-style burger.

Cinnaholic
You’re craving something sweet instead? Cinnaholic is THE place for the most Instagram-worthy desserts in the city. This fully vegan bakery, located in Capitol Hill, is best known for its gourmet cinnamon rolls that you can customize with a wide variety of frostings and toppings — so no two visits have to be the same. If you thought cinnamon rolls were boring, Cinnaholic will definitely prove you wrong.
Araya’s Place
Next, let’s talk about one of Seattle’s oldest and most beloved vegan restaurants. Established in 1987, Araya’s Place is the first vegan Thai restaurant in the Pacific Northwest, serving traditional Thai dishes in a cozy atmosphere. The menu focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients — true to their motto, “vegetables taste better here”. It’s the ideal spot for lunch or a vegan night out, as the restaurant also features a bar.

The Wayward Cafe
One of my favorite spots for vegan brunch in Seattle is Wayward Cafe. You’ll find some of the tastiest vegan breakfast plates here — think waffles, vegan egg dishes, and loaded breakfast burritos. Originally a fully vegan restaurant, it now offers options for a variety of diets while still staying true to its extensive plant-based menu. That quality and variety have even earned Wayward Cafe the title of “Best in the PNW” by The Seattle Times every year since 2023.

Mighty-O Donuts
For everyone with a sweet tooth, these vegan donuts in Seattle are a must-try. Mighty-O has been crafting its donuts using natural and organic ingredients based on a Seattle original recipe since 2000. Made fresh daily, the quality really shines through in every bite. Moreover, the baked goods look absolutely beautiful in photos! This donut shop even earned the title of “Best Donuts in the PNW” by The Seattle Times in 2025.
Kati Vegan Thai
Another must-try vegan restaurant in Seattle is Kati Vegan Thai. Like Araya’s Place, this fully plant-based location serves Thai cuisine under the motto “modern flavors, traditional methods” with a strong focus on fresh ingredients. Consequently, it won South Lake Union’s award for Restaurant of the Year in 2021. The trendy yet warm interior creates the perfect space for dining in with family or friends.
Pi Vegan Pizzeria
If you’re craving pizza, Pi Vegan Pizzeria is a must-visit. Established in 2002, it’s one of the oldest vegan pizzerias in America and has built a strong reputation for serving some of the best (vegan) pizza in Seattle. The menu features creative, flavor-packed pies with perfectly crispy crusts and generous toppings. It’s consistently ranked among the city’s top pizzerias, for vegans and non-vegans alike.
Frankie & Jo’s
For some of the best vegan ice cream in Seattle, visit Frankie & Jo’s in one of its three locations. This fully plant-based scoop shop is known for its unique, small-batch flavors made from bases like coconut milk and oat milk. With its minimalist, trendy interior, it’s the perfect spot to cool off and take some aesthetic ice cream cone photos.
Rojo’s Mexican Food
In the mood for Mexican food? Rojo’s is a great spot to satisfy those cravings with its fully plant-based take on classic Mexican dishes. The menu features all the favorites, from tacos and burritos to flavorful sides, made with authentic spices and amazing flavors.
Cafe Flora
Last but not least, one of the trendiest and most charming cafés in Seattle is Cafe Flora. Known for its beautifully designed interior and vibrant dishes, this fully vegetarian spot has become a favorite for relaxed breakfasts, cozy dinners, and especially its popular weekend brunch. The menu is perfect if you love food that tastes as good as it looks. In Beacon Hill, you’ll also find The Flora Bakehouse, a stylish sister spot offering artisanal pastries, breads, and desserts — many of which are vegan.
